All Village Street Poles have received a new coat of red paint with hand-painted letters and accent details.
This achievement was facilitated through collaborative efforts by Councilman Ted Cavanaugh, who worked in tandem with the Wadsworth Municipal Courts to allocate individuals sentenced to community service hours to aid the Village.
Many Americans still drink water with unhealthy levels of toxic chemicals, heavy metals, bacteria, and other contaminants.
Some chemicals can make you sick if they are in your tap water at unsafe levels.
Find information below about the chemicals that most often contaminate tap water and cause disease, and how to remove them.
*** Educating yourself and your family about these chemicals is important, especially if you own or rent a home built in the early to mid- century in the Village because many of the homes and/ or cottages may not have had their plumbing updated.***
For example, the most common sources of lead in drinking water are lead pipes, faucets, and plumbing fixtures. Certain pipes that carry drinking water from the water source to the home may contain lead. Household plumbing fixtures, welding solder, and pipe fittings made prior to 1986 may also contain lead.
Lead sampling of residential tap water is available from the Environmental Division of the Medina County Health Department for a fee of $55.

Understanding the Quality of your Drinking Water
Consumer Confidence Reports (CCRs), also known as water quality reports or drinking water quality reports, provide you with important information about the quality of your drinking water.
. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires every community water supplier to provide a CCR to its customers.
Community water suppliers must provide CCRs to their customers by mail or online by July 1st.
If you don’t pay your water bill directly—for example, if you live in an apartment or rental house where the landlord or a management company pays the water bill—you may need to contact them for more information. You could also check online to see if your CCR is posted.
Only community water systems that serve the same people year-round provide CCRs, and our Village does, from Medina County Sanitary Engineers.

Medina County Park District (MCPD) has initiated the H2Ohio Chippewa Lake Wetland Restoration Project, a restoration project on the former Chippewa Lake Amusement Park site.
MCPD has contracted Biohabitats, Inc. to design and build the project. The condition of the project site, its unnamed tributaries, which drain to Chippewa Lake, and human activities over the years impacted the associated wetlands within the project area, particularly channelization and drainage for agricultural, residential, and recreational land use practices in the immediate vicinity and upstream watershed.
The project area lies along the eastern shoreline of Chippewa Lake. Chippewa Lake is one of Ohio's most significant natural inland lakes, created by glacial retreat as a remnant of a once much larger lake trapped behind the Wabash moraine (Camp, 2006). Much of the watershed's streams and wetlands have been ditched and farmed.
The immediate shoreline of the lake has been modified for recreational use as an amusement park or for vacation homes. Direct physical modifications to the project site itself include channelizing wetland and stream systems, paving, tile drains, and infrastructure installation.
Today, in response to these land-use changes, there has been a loss of ecological habitat.

Reason For Tree Clearing:
County Highway Forces cleared within the county Right-of-Way along Lake Road between Eastlake Road and Clayton Drive for utility relocation in anticipation of future curve realignment and culvert replacement in 2 years.
The project is being conducted by the County Engineer's Office, and the Park District partnered with them by gaving permission to realign on park property. Doing so will also help direct water into the wetlands on the future Chippewa Lake Park.
The straightened road will make use of curve's western swale and extend to Clayton Drive.

This is when someone illegally uses your property for financial gain.
Property Fraud Alert is an online subscription service offered to the public that allows them to have their name monitored within the Recorder's office in order to track possible fraudulent recordings that affects their property.
The threat of mortgage fraud and identity theft crimes continue to rise, and all too often victims of these types of fraudulent activities are unaware their homes or identity have been stolen. While Property Fraud Alert does not prevent fraud from happening; it provides an early warning system for property owners to take appropriate actions should they determine possible fraudulent activity has
taken place.
